University Research Projects

CDA has an outstanding team with a strong mix of clinical, statistical, and computational expertise. The center values collaboration, innovation, and creativity, in order to continuously improve the team’s contribution to health services and research. In particular:

    1. Researchers at CDA investigate the comparative effectiveness of different treatment and policy options to improve outcomes and lower health care costs.
    2. Our potential work includes the impact of recently implemented Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) on the quality and efficiency of treatments.
    3. Using public and private partnerships, CDA provides faculty and researchers with an exciting opportunity to conduct ground-breaking interdisciplinary research.
    4. The center utilizes innovative econometric models to quantify the treatment performance and identify underlying drivers for quality and efficiency.
    5. The center provides the clinical, econometric, statistical, data management and analytical expertise necessary for grant applications.
    6. Housing many datasets encourages data sharing and thus enables both cost and time efficiency.

Once a research question is determined, we provide information regarding appropriate datasets and preliminary numbers and assist with proposal writing. When the project is funded, we assist preparing the protocol, conducting the analysis, and preparing the final report. The CDA publication and communication team provides support for an assortment of publications, including manuscripts, abstracts, and poster/podium presentations.

Teaching

CDA will host many seminars and workshops. Collaborating faculty and industry professionals will run these workshops and trainings in various applied sciences. As a result, students can experience real-world problems and expand their career network to secure internships and/or employments. The center will provide opportunities for student research as well. Funding options for faculty and students will be available through grants. Ultimately, CDA will serve as a lab for students to apply their skills to real-world problems.

Internships

Most students looking for work experience find themselves seeking for both internships and research opportunities. CDA will provide an environment where interns will work directly with research fellows and programmers. Through internships, students will create industry connections that may lead to full-time employment.
